The Griffin--with deep-red leather booths and two fireplaces--a cozy den found in Fremont East.

Part of the refit of Fremont East was to install retro-neon signs in the median of the street.

The lady's shoe calls to mind the old Silver Slipper Casino on the Strip.  Howard Hughes bought the Silver Slipper and tore it down because the light from the shoe lit up the two top floors he rented at the Desert Inn across the street.  Hughes also bought the Desert Inn when they tried to evict him for staying past his reservation.
