The Silverton originally opened as Boomtown in 1994; it is considered a "locals" casino.

The Shady Grove, a bar with alternating colored-lighting--here, showing red.

In 2004, the resort took on a marine theme--with the addition of a 117,000 gallon aquarium featuring mermaids who swim and frolic and interact with the guests.

Here, one of the Silverton mermaids takes a breath before diving.

The mermaid does a "flip".

The mermaids love to interact and play with the children.  For more photos and video of the mermaid, click here.

These waterfalls are at the entrance to the 145,000 sq foot Bass Pro Shop, which was added in 2004.  Due to its size, the Bass Pro Shop has become a tourist attraction.
